海遊館で飼育されているカマイルカのテロメア長を検出しました。
世界で初めて鯨類のテロメア長を繰り返し測定し、テロメア長の変動を1年半追跡しました。テロメア長の伸長と短縮の両方が観察されました。
Telomere lengths were detected in the Pacific white-sided dolphins kept at
Kaiyukan.
For the first time in the world, we repeatedly measured telomere length in cetaceans and tracked telomere length fluctuations for one and a half years. Both telomere length elongation and shortening were observed.
