Yunnan snub nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus bieti) is distribute in north-western Yunnan and south-eastern Tibet with population of 2,000 individuals which divide into 17 groups. The habitat of Yunnan snub nosed monkey is confined to an elevation of 3000–4400 m above sea level and in areas dominated by alpine temperate forests. This research is being proposed to protect and promote the conservation of Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey in Laojun Mountain National Park. Firstly, this study will focus on the population, habitat utilization and figure out the home range size and home range shape of Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey. Secondly, the ecological and behavioral characteristics study will be carry out to attempt to explore the population structure. Finally, as the data become accumulate, I will try to make the individual identification study of Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey from genomic analysis in faecal samples.
