The Wildlife Research Center was established within Kyoto University and the Department of Health and Longevity has been moved under the authority of Wildlife Research Center, Kyoto University.

Chimpanzee Sanctuary Uto has changed its name to Kumamoto Sanctuary, and has been reestablished from Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho Co., Ltd. now under the authority of Kyoto University.
